Overview: Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital, located in Harrisonburg, VA, is hiring an
HVAC Mechanic - Full Time Day schedule
The
HVAC Mechanic is experienced in all phases of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating. This individual inspects, repairs and maintains HVAC systems in addition to maintaining parts, supplies and equipment. They are responsible for following the operational and departmental guidelines and for meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements, e.g. OSHA.
Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Trade School Graduate (Required)
- Post-secondary/vocational training in air conditioning, refrigeration, math, physics, chemistry, and basic mechanics (Preferred)
Certification/Licensure - Journeyman's license for Heating Vent and AC must be attained by the end of the first year of employment (Required)
- Driver's License (Required)
- Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Type 2 (High-Pressure Appliances) (Required)
- Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Type 1 (Small Appliances) (Required)
- Universal Certification (Preferred)
Experience - HVAC - 3 years (Required)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $32.58 - $48.79 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
